Subscribe to school holiday dates in your calendar

Every council calendar on this site has its own calendar address, one for each school year. Subscribe once and your calendar app checks the address for changes, so if a council corrects a date the correction reaches you.

The address

Each address takes the same form and does not change when the dates are updated:

https://ukschoolholidaydates.co.uk/calendars/<nation>/<council>/<school year>.ics

For example, https://ukschoolholidaydates.co.uk/calendars/scotland/aberdeen-city/2026-27.ics. Every address is listed at the end of this page and on each council's page.

The calendar asks apps to check once a day. Each app sets its own timing, and Google Calendar can take longer. The file only holds dates read from an official published calendar, usually the council's own page, each with its source page and the date it was read. It never holds a date the source does not state.

What the status tags mean

Each event in the calendar starts its description with the same tags shown beside the dates on this site.

Status tags: agreed, the source says the dates are approved; proposed, the source labels them proposed, so we withhold them; status not stated, approval is not recorded; council calendar, the authority's own calendar; Welsh Ministers' Direction, the dates Welsh Ministers set for council schools; academies may differ, academies and some other schools set their own dates.
